Leanne and Ross Alexander are your hosts at The Bears Went Over The Mountain Boutique accommodation. Hailing from Cairns in Tropical North Queensland, it was a cool alpine change for this couple and their young family, when they moved to southern Tasmania in late 2013.
Attracted to the region’s vibrant natural beauty, tranquility and the quality of life this country community offered their young son Cooper, Leanne and Ross are invested in the future of the property and Geeveston.

“Welcome to The Bears Went Over The Mountain, one of Geeveston’s best accommodation houses, conveniently located on the main street and providing the perfect base to explore the Huon Trail and all of its natural beauty and attractions.
We visited Tasmania regularly before moving here. So as tourists-come-locals, we’re happy to share our experiences and advice on the best things to see and do in southern Tasmania. We love the scenery and sense of community here: this is just somewhere that kept calling us back.
